The Canadian flag

In first grade, after we had recited the Lord's Prayer and sung the National Anthem, we saluted this flag every morning with these words: "I salute the flag, the emblem of my country, and to her I pledge my love and loyalty." And then, 55 years ago last week, the red and white Liberal flag was foisted upon us.
