Smyrna
Revelation 2:8-11
1. These are the words of him who is
the First and
Final One,
who died and
came to life again,
who ev’ry
vict’ry won:
“I know your
pain and poverty,
the slander
that you face,
but you are rich
because you share
in my
abundant grace.
2. “Be not afraid of suffering
the devil’s wickedness.
He’ll
persecute you for ten days
and test your
faithfulness.
Be loyal to
the point of death–
endure the
painful strife–
for I assure
you that I will
give you the
crown of life.
3. “Let him who has an ear give ear
and listen to
the word
the Spirit
speaks to every church:
Pay heed unto
the Lord!
The one who
overcomes the foe
will not at
all be hurt
by second
death, or fire, or hell–
I will all
harm divert.”
