Yesterday a new family joined our church. The brother is an undertaker. As I was talking to him in the foyer after church, another brother, who is an obstetrician, happened by and welcomed the undertaker-brother to our congregation.
Today, because of a death, we were at the funeral home where the first brother is a director. I mentioned to him how striking it was, the day before, to be speaking with him and the brother-obstetrician at the same time: the one brings people into the world while the other carries them out. To which he replied: "And you help us during the time in between."
